Problems Publishing a FrontPage Website
Applies to: FrontPage webs (Windows Hosting)

If your password is rejected when you attempt to update (publish) your website using Microsoft FrontPage, it may be due to a corruption of the server extensions installed on your website. 95% of the time this can be resolved by uninstalling the server extensions, then reinstalling them. This is NOT normally a password issue (unless you have actually changed it previously).

Important Note: If you're a Linux Hosting customer, please contact ServuPro Support.

Uninstalling Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:

After first logging into your control panel, at https://www.servupro.com/admin:

Select Domains -> (the actual domain this involves) -> Properties -> Domain Services -> FrontPage.
Be sure the correct website is showing under Website Name.
Change Full Uninstall from Yes to No.
Click on the Uninstall FrontPage button.

Once the server extensions have been successfully uninstalled, reinstall them as follows:

Installing Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:

  1. Select Domains -> (the actual domain this involves) -> Properties -> Domain Services -> FrontPage.
  2. Be sure the correct website is showing under Website Name.
  3. Don't change SMTP Server.
  4. Click on the Install FrontPage button.
You should get a notice saying that FrontPage was successfully installed.

After this process, close the Microsoft FrontPage application and re-open it, then try to publish to your website again. If you still get the password error, repeat the steps above but choose Yes for Full Uninstall.

If you are still having problems after performing the above, please contact ServuPro Support.
