How To - Setting Up Email with Windows Live Mail
Applies to: Hosted Email (both Windows Hosting and Linux Hosting platforms)

In most cases you will want to configure Windows Live Mail to download your messages onto a single computer. When you download your messages in this manner, they are subsequently removed from the mail server when the download is complete.

Important Note: If you're a Linux Hosting customer, you must use "mail.yourdomain", (not mail.servupro.com).

Configuring a New Account

From the Tools Menu, choose Accounts...

  1. Click Add...
  2. Under Select Account Type, choose Email Account and click Next.
  3. Enter your email address, password and the Display Name for this account.
  4. Check the box "Manually configure server settings for e-mail account" and click Next.
  5. Ensure "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server is selected.
  6. Enter "mail.servupro.com" (without the quotes) in the Incoming server box. Note: You may also enter mail.yourdomain if you wish.
  7. Leave Login ID blank.
  8. Enter "mail.servupro.com" in the Outgoing server box (or mail.yourdomain if you wish).
  9. Check "My outgoing server requires authentication".
  10. Click Finish.
